Rehabilitation of Pipelines

Rehabilitation of Pipelines

Description
Polyflow's Thermoflex tubing can be inserted and pulled through long distances inside of existing pipelines that need to be replaced. The benefits are dramatically reduced costs versus laying new steel, reduced lead time and providing a long term corrosion resistant solution. This pull through rehabilitation process can be performed on both onshore and offshore applications.

How It Works
There are only a few simple steps required for rehabilitation with Thermoflex tubing. The line should be pigged to assure an unrestricted path for the Thermoflex. Another pig is pulling a cable or high strength rope through the line. The cable or line is connected to a pulling cone attached to the Thermoflex tubing and is pulled back through the existing line.

Benefits
The benefits of Thermoflex Rehabilitation of Existing Steel Lines include:

  • Thermoflex is lightweight and utilizes high strength Aramid fibers to allow for pull length over four miles (6 kilometer). Flooding the existing line can increase the maximum pull lengths.
  • Thermoflex is corrosion resistant and is designed to handle the operating pressures of the line.
  • Rehabilitation can be up to 90% less expensive than laying new steel.
  • Polyflow will model the line to determine the pull lengths available and develop a procedure for installation.
  • Sealing the annulus between the existing steel and the Thermoflex tubing creates a secondary monitored leak protection system.
  • See operations parameters for offshore rehabilitation or contact a PolyFlow representative.
